Una: Satpal Singh Satti opposes the annual allocation of MLA priority works

Himachal Pradesh: Una MLA Satpal Singh Satti today protested the Himachal government’s revised guidelines for “MLA Priority” works, which have been reduced to just one per financial year. He said that even the works listed by MLAs in the last three meetings of the Planning Department have not yet begun. He described this government decision as anti-development. In a press note issued here, Satti said that it is sad that the state government, facing a lack of funds, has put MLA Priority works on hold. He said that development work in the state has stalled and the government neither has a concrete plan nor is it serious about development issues. He said that the government is suspending many schemes to hide its shortcomings. He said that MLAs are public representatives and people express their demands. MLAs decide which works should be implemented based on the priority of the area. However, if people’s demands are not heeded, it is against the principles of democracy. Satti said that currently all the development works going on in the state are being funded by the Central Government.
