Uncle arrested for killing 21-year-old nephew
Bijnor (IANS). A man has been arrested for allegedly lynching his nephew in Abhayrajpur village under Afzalgarh police station area of Bijnor district in Uttar Pradesh. Gaurav, 21, was missing since the evening of July 13. The police officer gave this information.
Police said Gaurav’s uncle Kamal Nath confessed to killing him by beating him with a stick.
The accused told the police during interrogation that the deceased Gaurav was addicted to alcohol. Everyday he used to fight in the house over money for liquor. He was not agreeing even after repeatedly explaining to him.
On the night of 13 July, Gaurav along with his friend Diwakar was in a highly inebriated condition and started abusing, which led to a scuffle and the uncle hit Gaurav on the head with a stick.
Later, in order to escape from the police and trap Rajendra, the dead body was taken and thrown at Rajendra’s house.
Station House Officer (SHO) Afzalgarh Hambir Singh said, “We have arrested the accused Kamal Nath for killing his nephew Gaurav.”
The SHO said that the victim’s father had lodged a complaint at the Afzalgarh police station. In which Kuldeep, Diwakar, and Rajendra of the village were nominated. During investigation, Kamal Nath’s name surfaced. When the police reached his house, he panicked and they started suspecting Kamal Nath. Later he accepted his crime. He has been arrested.
The SHO said that a case has been registered against the accused Kamal Nath under sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing destruction of evidence) of the IPC. The stick used in the murder has been recovered.
