Cuttack: Shootout in Bayalishmouja leaves one dead

Cuttack: A person was reportedly shot dead in Bayalismouja area in Cuttack district of Odisha.

The deceased has been idenitifed as Bikash Mohanty. He is from Birang in Jagatsinghpur district.

It has been learned from preliminary investigation that the murder has been committed over past enmity.

Police have detained the accused who opened fire and seized the gun that was used in the murder.

The accused is from Pattamundai area of ​​Kendrapara district. He was working as a painter in the house here. Accordingly, he was known to the deceased. Today, they played Holi and drank alcohol. The accused got suddenly provoked by something and opened fire. Apart from these two people, there were other people at the scene of the incident. The police are questioning them.

After getting information Police reached the spot and initiated investigation.

Police are also investigating where from he got the gun from. The scientific team is collecting more evidence at the spot.

It is to be noted that only a few days ago a country gun manufacturing unit had been busted in Bayalismouja area. Four people, who are from other states, had been arrested in this case.
