Union minister RK Singh’s Ram Navami procession thrashed youths
Patna (IANS)| Supporters of Union minister RK Singh on Thursday thrashed a youth who was part of a group that raised slogans against him during a Ram Navami march in Bihar’s Arrah town. The incident took place on the Abad flyover under Town Police Station when some youths, who are also said to be BJP members, thrashed R.K. Singh raised slogans of Mudarbad, demanding that a road be built in his area. On this, some supporters of Singh thrashed the youth, who is said to be one of the protesters.
Singh is the MP from Arrah and according to sources the protesters were also supporters of the BJP. The scuffle led to a stampede-like situation. One of the injured, Pawan Kumar, has been admitted to Sadar Hospital.
He said- Some people were opposing the construction of the road in the locality. I was also present there. I am the convenor of Hindu Jagran Manch of the city. During the protest, the saffron flag fell on the road and I was trying to pick it up. A person put his foot on the flag. When I asked them to remove the leg, they beat me up.
