UP News: Tiger seen on the outskirts of Pilibhit, forest teams on alert

Uttar Pradesh: A tiger was spotted on the outskirts of Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, officials said.

A video of a big cat walking on the road of Bisalpur near Roop Pur Krupa village surfaced on social networks. Silvicultura Social subdivision officer Anjani Srivastava told PTI that the tiger that had come very close to the city was from the Reserva de Tigres de Pilibhit.

There is a possibility that it may have been lost, he said. The area was cordoned off after the tiger was spotted at night. Srivastava said, police agents along with a team from the forest department reached the area to avoid any conflict between wildlife and humans.

Permission is awaited to conduct further operations to rescue the tiger. He said that forest department and police teams are on alert. A crowd gathered to see the tiger.
