Uproar over Minister Atchannaidu’s comments in AP Legislative Council

Amaravati: There was chaos in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council (AP Council) meetings on Wednesday. The comments made by State Minister Acchennaidu caused a huge uproar. When the alliance proposed a discussion on the Tirumala Laddu adulteration issue, Council Chairman Motion Raju allowed it.
Continuing the discussion, some YCP members raised the flag in a strong tone that the Tirumala laddu adulteration took place during the coalition rule. Minister Lokesh, along with Atchannaidu and others, refuted the allegations made by YCP members against the Heritage organization. However, they said that they have unwavering devotion and faith in the Tirumala deity. They said that they did not expect YCP members to work hard against Hinduism and Lord Venkateswara Swamy. They said that they are not wrong in this matter because the chairman of the council is a Christian and the YCP leader is a Christian, but that the sanctity of Lord Venkateswara Swamy is being badly damaged.
The YSRCP members, along with the council chairman, objected to this. They expressed anger over the mention of castes and religions in the assembly. The council chairman revealed that he was not a Christian. When Atchannaidu was demanded to apologize to the assembly, he refused.
This created a situation of confusion in the House for a long time. The Minister replied to the Chairman that if you say that you are not a Christian, then I will apologize. He said that he is not a Christian but a Hindu. It was revealed that he replied that he thought he was a Christian and spoke to the Minister.
