Used to supply liquor on bike, police caught him red handed
Raigarh. Police station in-charge Jute Mill Inspector Mohan Bhardwaj received information from an informer that a person is carrying Mahua liquor on a Glamour motor cycle from Raigarh to Pusaur for illegal sale. On the instructions of the police station in-charge, the Jute Mill Police Patrol immediately cordoned off the area near Chhatamuda Chowk and caught the driver of the Glamour motorcycle mentioned by the informer. On interrogation, the driver of the motorcycle revealed his name as Gajanand Sarathi, father Hazaru Sarathi, age 38 years, resident of Dhanagar Police Station Kotra Road.
A total of 23 liters of Mahua liquor filled in two jars of 10 liters capacity, 02 liters of cold drink and 01 liter water bottle was recovered from him. Illegal 23 liters of Mahua liquor worth ₹ 2300 and the motorcycle Glamour CG 13 AW 9249 used in transportation have been seized from the accused Gajanand Sarathi. Action has been taken against the accused in Jute Mill police station under crime number 282/2024, section 34 (2), 59 (a) of the Excise Act. Head constables Clostika Khare, Ramnath Banerjee and constables Lakheshwar Purseth and Shashi Bhushan Sahu of town patrolling were involved in the liquor rate action.
