Uttarakhand: Anganwadi worker fainted during protest
Dehradun: There is a lot of anger among Anganwadi workers due to the demand for declaration of government employees and increase in honorarium not being met. On Friday, as per the pre-determined programme, the workers took out a procession against the government. During this time, an Anganwadi worker Sangeeta Semwal fainted.
The procession was taken out with effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Smriti Irani, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya. The procession passed through the main roads of the city and reached the bus stand. Anganwadi workers from across the district participated in the demonstration under the banner of Anganwadi Workers, Sevikas and Mini Anganwadi Employees Organization.
The workers burnt the effigy and raised slogans against the government. Let us tell you that Anganwadi workers are on indefinite strike in the Collectorate premises since February 19. Whose strike has completed 25 days today. Now, anger is increasing among Anganwadi workers whenever a code of conduct is imposed for the Lok Sabha elections and their demands are not met.
