Uttarakhand STF arrested Chhota Rajan’s close friend from India-Nepal border

Dehradun (IANS). In Uttarakhand, the police is running “Operation Prahar” against criminals with rewards. In the same sequence, on Monday morning, the STF team formed by CO STF Sumit Pandey arrested gangster Deepak Sisodia of Haldwani police station, carrying a reward of Rs 25,000, from Banbasa on the India-Nepal border.

The arrested criminal was serving life imprisonment for the murder of journalist Jedde in Mumbai in 2011 and had come to Haldwani after being released on parole from Mumbai’s Amravati Central Jail in January last year.

He was supposed to go back to jail in March, but criminal Deepak Sisodia absconded from parole. On this, Mumbai Police had registered a case against him in Haldwani police station. SSP Nainital imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on him. A reward of Rs.

Uttarakhand was making efforts for the last one year to arrest this rewarded criminal Deepak Sisodia, who belonged to Chhota Rajan gang, but due to Deepak Sisodia hiding in Nepal, his arrest was not possible.

STF was getting confidential information that Deepak was secretly coming to Haldwani on which the team was working. Late on Sunday night the team came to know that Deepak was coming early in the morning. On this the team was deployed in Banbasa area. According to accurate information, Deepak reached Banbasa from Nepal in a car Ford Fiesta, which the team caught near Banbasa railway station.

He has been brought from Banbasa and kept in Haldwani police station from where he will later be sent to Mumbai.

According to SSP STF Ayush Aggarwal, Deepak Sisodia was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Mumbai court for his involvement in the murder of Maharashtra’s famous investigative journalist JDE. Since then he was lodged in Amravati Central Jail of Maharashtra.

In January 2022, he was released on parole for 45 days. He was to return to Amravati jail after his parole period ended in March, but he absconded.

Deepak Sisodia is a resident of Haldwani and was found guilty of being involved in the murder of senior journalist JDE of the English evening daily Mid Day in Mumbai in June 2011. He had carried out this massacre along with the shooters of underworld don Chhota Rajan gang.

Last year, he had fled to Nepal after not returning from parole. Since then STF was collecting its information about this and on the basis of that collected information, by making a precise plan, the arrest of this criminal became possible.
