Veterinary Junior Assistant arrested for taking bribe in Subarnapur
Subarnapur: The Vigilance officials on Sunday have arrested a Junior Assistant at sub-divisional veterinary office while he was taking bribe in Subarnapur.
The accused person have been identified as Golaka Bihari Podha. He was allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 15,000 from a Live Stock Inspector for processing and drawl of his pending salary.
Initially, Podha took Rs 20,000 bribe but did not release the salary and demanded Rs 15,000 more to do the same. Following this, the complainant approached the Vigilance authorities and an FIR was registered in this matter.
Earlier today, Podha was nabbed by the Vigilance team while accepting demanded bribe 15,000. The entire bribe money has been recovered and then seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Podha from DA angle.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance have registered a case under Amendment Act, 2018. Investigation is in progress against accused Podha.
