Vibrant Gujarat Summit truly vibrant, says Thai envoy Pattarat Hongtong

Ahmedabad: Thai Ambassador to India Pattarat Hongtong has said that the Vibrant Gujarat Summit in Gandhinagar is truly vibrant. The Thai envoy said, “Vibrant Gujarat is truly alive…Our Deputy Commerce Minister is leading the delegation at the summit.

“We have set up an exhibition on the success of Thai investments in India.” Meanwhile, Japan’s Ambassador to India Hiroshi Suzuki said he was excited about Vibrant Gujarat, “as 70 Japanese companies are participating in it.” The Ambassador of Japan said that the country has two priority sectors, semiconductor and green growth industries. “Therefore, we are very excited and I have full hope that this Vibrant Gujarat will lead to concrete progress for the special partnership between Japan and India in the future,” he said. Earlier, Netherlands Ambassador to India Marisa Gerards had said that at least 45 Dutch companies have signed up for Vibrant Gujarat, many of which have already invested in the western state.

“We have 45 companies that have signed up for Vibrant Gujarat. These are companies that are already investing a lot in Gujarat, that are already doing a lot of business but there are also companies that are new. I think they are looking to strengthen their ties to India, they want to invest more,” Gerrards said.
“There will be a lot of business-to-business contacts…” Finding a common thread between Gujarat and the Netherlands, he said, “What I find interesting is that Gujarat is sometimes called the gateway to India and I think That the Netherlands is sometimes called the Gateway to Europe.” Meanwhile, coming to the much-awaited Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a major trade show today.

More than 1,000 exhibitors from 20 countries across the world will participate in the trade show, a Gujarat government release said. Around 100 countries are participating as visiting trade shows, while 33 countries are participating as partners, the release said. The trade show will have 13 halls based on various themes including ‘Make in Gujarat’, and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. The trade show will be open to trade visitors on January 10-11 and to the public on January 12-13.
