Vigilance raid on the principal of government Ayurvedic college and hospital
Balangir: Reliable reports indicate that a vigilance raid was carried out on Thursday at the Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital in Balangir, targeting Professor (Dr) Sudarshan Behera, the Principal of the institution. The raid was prompted by allegations of Dr. Sudarshan Behera possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
It’s worth noting that the Odisha Vigilance team, led by eight Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), six Inspectors, and other personnel, is concurrently conducting house searches. These searches are authorized by search warrants issued by the Vigilance Judge in Bhubaneswar and encompass six locations in Puri, Sambalpur, and Balangir districts:
- Dr. Sudarshan Behera’s residence in Jaypur village, Sakhigopal, District Puri.
- Dr. Behera’s house in Nahala, under the jurisdiction of Satyabadi Police Station, District Puri.
- Dr. Behera’s residence in Kashiharipur, under the jurisdiction of Puri Sadar Police Station, Puri.
- The quarters of Dr. Behera’s spouse inside the CRPF campus, Sambalpur.
- A house belonging to a relative of Dr. Behera in Simili village, Sorisiapada, under the jurisdiction of Gop Police Station, District Puri.
- Dr. Behera’s office at the Government Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Balangir.
