Tamil Nadu: The process of forming a new government in Tamil Nadu has been completed in Chennai, and the state will receive a new Chief Minister today. Devegas leader Vijay is scheduled to be sworn in as Chief Minister at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai at 10 am today (May 10). Political activity has intensified in the state in anticipation of this historic occasion.

Reactions from various political parties are pouring in ahead of the swearing-in ceremony. Meanwhile, Premalatha Vijayakanth congratulated Vijay on being sworn in as Chief Minister. She said this marks a significant shift in Tamil Nadu politics and that the new government is expected to bring development to the state.

As per the official procedure, Governor R. N. Ravi has accepted the TDP’s claim to form the government in Tamil Nadu. He subsequently issued an order appointing C. Joseph Vijay as Chief Minister. This order was issued on Saturday (May 9), formally completing the government formation process.

The TDP won 108 seats in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The support of 118 MLAs is required to form a government. Initially, the Congress and Left parties announced their support to the TDP, strengthening the possibility of a coalition government.

Following this, the TDP received letters of support from the VKC and IUML, securing a clear majority, bringing the total support of the TDP to 120 MLAs. This clears the way for government formation.

A large number of political leaders and dignitaries are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony today. The event is being held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. The administration has made elaborate security arrangements, and thousands of police personnel have been deployed.

This ceremony will also showcase a new political alliance, encompassing the support of various parties. The support of the Congress and the Left, along with other allies, played a key role in securing this government’s majority.

According to political analysts, this change marks the beginning of a new era of coalitions in Tamil Nadu politics. The new government will now face the challenge of maintaining stability, development, and coalition balance in the state.

The swearing-in ceremony in Chennai is being seen as a turning point in the state’s politics, marking the formal beginning of a government with a new leadership.
