Baghmara, March 04: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday inaugurated the Chitmang Chaiwat Multi-Purpose Water Reservoir (RIDF – XXVI NABARD) in Badri Rongdong i.e. South Garo Hills district in the presence of Education Minister Rakmak Sangma and Soil Conservation Minister Marquis N Marak. . ,
While inaugurating the reservoir, Conrad Sangma accepted the suggestion of the Soil Conservation Minister that it be named after his late father P A Sangma to commemorate his 8th death anniversary which fell on the day of inauguration.
Appreciating the work of the department and its officials under the guidance of his Minister for the successful implementation of the project, the Chief Minister proposed to upgrade this water reservoir area as a park for children and turn it into a tourist attraction site complete with food and dining.
