Water leak in Saidapet tunnel: Southern Railway, Corporation ordered to respond

Tamil Nadu: The Madras High Court has ordered the Southern Railway and the Chennai Corporation to respond to a case seeking repair of a water leak in the Saidapet-Pavalavannan Tunnel in Chennai.
Advocate Chokkalingam filed a petition in the Chennai High Court alleging that water leaks in the Pavalavannan Tunnel in Saidapet, Chennai, were causing vehicle accidents. The response to his petition was that a drinking water supply pipe above the tunnel had been damaged. Therefore, he requested that the Southern Railway, the Chennai Corporation, and the Chennai Drinking Water Supply and Sewerage Board be ordered to repair the damaged drinking water pipe in the mine shaft and take steps to stop the water leak.
The case came up for hearing before Justice Abdul Quddus on Monday. The judge hearing the case ordered Southern Railway, Chennai Corporation, Chennai Drinking Water Supply and Sewerage Board and Chennai Drinking Water Supply and Sewerage Board to respond to the petition and adjourned the hearing.
