South Indian food is popular throughout the country. Appe, one of these dishes, is also very tasty. Appe made from semolina (Rava) is something different. In many homes, semolina appe is made but it is not soft. Adding buttermilk to appe makes appe soft. Apart from being delicious, Appe is also healthy. This can be a great choice as a breakfast. Being light, they are also very good for digestion. It does not take much time to make these. Let us know today the method of making semolina appe, which is quite easy.
Material
1/2 kg – Semolina (Rava)
2 cups – buttermilk
1 cup – finely chopped tomato
1 cup – finely chopped onion
2 tbsp – chopped coriander leaves
4-5 – chopped green chillies
1/4 tsp cumin
1 tsp mustard
1/2 tsp baking soda
salt as per taste
Method
-First of all put semolina in the bowl.

  • After this add buttermilk to it and mix. Add a little water if needed and prepare a batter of semolina medium thickness.
  • Cover the prepared solution and keep it aside for half an hour. During this time the semolina will swell, if the batter seems too thick then you can add more water to it.
  • Add finely chopped onion, tomato, green chilli, green coriander, cumin and salt to the solution and mix. Finally add baking soda and mix.
  • Now take the appe mold and add little oil in it and heat it. When the oil gets hot, put some mustard seeds in each mold and when it crackles, add the semolina solution with the help of a spoon or bowl.
  • Cover the lid and let the appe cook. After 2 minutes, open the lid and check the appe, turn them, cover the lid again and cook for 1-2 more minutes.
  • When the appas become golden and crisp from both sides, turn off the gas and take out the appas from the mold. Prepare appe from the entire batter in this manner. Appe can be enjoyed with chutney or sauce.
