Ashok Pandit, co-producer of the film ’72 Hooren’, said on Tuesday that the censor board has refused to certify the trailer of the film, which is slated to release on July 7. Directed by Sanjay Puran Singh, the film stars Pawan Malhotra and Aamir Bashir in lead roles and is based on the consequences of violent extremism.
In a video message, Pandit appealed to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur and Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairman Prasoon Joshi to remove those trying to “take away our freedom of creative expression” from the censor board. In the one-and-a-half-minute video, Pandit said, “We the producers of ’72 Hooren’ are extremely shocked and upset as the censor board has refused to certify our trailer today. He said it is quite ridiculous and sad that a A film that has won a National Award, a film that has won an award at IFFI (International Film Festival of India). Its visuals are similar to the film of that time, only the trailer is new.

The trailer of 72 Hooren will be released digitally on 28 June. Directed by two-time National Award winner Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, the film was scheduled to release on July 7. It is produced by Gulab Singh Tanwar, Kiran Dagar, Anirudh Tanwar and others. Its co-producer is Ashok Pandit.
