Wife, neighbor murdered on suspicion of illicit relationship

New Delhi (IANS). A 32-year-old man on Thursday killed his wife and neighbor on suspicion of having an extramarital affair in Delhi’s Rohini area. An officer gave this information.

The police have taken the accused Imran into custody.

According to the police, at around 8.10 am, a person was reported to have been stabbed.

On reaching the spot, it was learned that the injured Sanjit alias Ranjit (22), a resident of Mangolpur Kalan, had already been taken to the BSA hospital by his relatives.

A senior police officer said, “It was also learned that Sanjeet was stabbed by his neighbor Imran. Meanwhile, another call came in in which the caller said that he had killed his wife and her lover.”

“Imran was present with his unconscious wife. She was taken to BSA hospital where she was declared brought dead. It was learned that the woman was allegedly strangulated by her husband Imran with her dupatta,” the police officer said.

After this second information was received from BSA Hospital that Sanjit has been declared dead.

“Preliminary investigation has revealed that Imran killed them both on the suspicion that they were having an illicit relationship. The accused has been taken into custody,” the official said.
