Woman beaten up for wearing fashionable bangles, case registered against 3 including husband
NAVI MUMBAI: Police have registered a case against a man and two of his relatives in Navi Mumbai’s Digha for allegedly beating up his wife because they were against her wearing fashionable bangles, an officer said on Saturday.
He said that Rabale MIDC police has registered a case based on the complaint of a 23-year-old woman. According to the complaint, the victim’s husband Pradeep Arkade (30) was against her wearing fashionable bangles and used to argue with her on the issue.

On November 13, during an argument with her, the woman’s 50-year-old mother-in-law pulled her hair and slapped her several times. It said her husband beat her with a belt, while her female relative also joined in and pushed her to the ground before beating her.
“After the incident, the victim went to her parents’ house in Pune and lodged a complaint there. The case was then transferred to Navi Mumbai for investigation,” he said.
A case has been registered against him under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (intentionally causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 34 (common intention), 504 (intentional insult with intent to violate law) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
