Woman commits suicide in Malkangiri district, reason unknown

Malkangiri: In an unfortunate incident, a woman allegedly ended her life by hanging herself with a rope in Odisha’s Malkangiri district today.

The woman, identified as Momi Tati, took the extreme step at Kunapali village under MV-79 police station area of the district.

Although the exact reason behind the woman committing suicide is not yet known, a police team from MV-79 police station reached the village and started investigation by sending her body for postmortem.

The police are also interrogating family members and neighbors to get some clues in the case, MV-79 Police Station IIC said, adding that the exact reason that prompted Tati to take the extreme step will be known after the investigation is completed by the scientific team.
