Woman demands extortion money of ₹1.60 lakh from Singh Classes operator in Malad West
Mumbai: A 42-year-old man, who runs Singh Classes in Charkop, was defrauded of Rs. Rs 1.60 lakh by blackmailing. A case has been registered against 32-year-old woman Rekha Mishra for alleged extortion.

The complainant, who runs classes from class 1 to class 12 in Malad West, had hired 12 teachers. In 2016, Rekha approached him for a job, claiming to have B.Ed and M.Com degrees. The victim informed him that there were no vacancies and said that if there were any, he would inform him.
Despite not being offered a job, Rekha continued messaging the victim and by 2019 they became friends through chats. In 2022, citing a divorce case, she asked for help, and he transferred Rs. For medical reasons he was given Rs 5,000.
In October 2023, Rekha sent a semi-nude photo, leading to a candid exchange. When he started blackmailing her through screenshots, she transferred Rs 1.60 lakh. He demanded a written settlement of Rs 5 lakh to avoid further threats.
FIR registered
Subsequently, the victim filed a case against Rekha Mishra under Indian Penal Code sections 384 (extortion), 504 (disturbing peace), and 506 (threatening) as well as relevant section of the Information Technology Act. A case was registered at Charkop police station on 21 November.
