Tel Aviv. On Monday, two men attacked pedestrians with knives in the Ranana area of central Israel, killing a woman and injuring 17 others. Hamas has claimed responsibility for the attack. Israeli police said the accused were identified as Mohammed Zaidat, 44, and Ahmed Zaidat, 24, of Hebron. Israeli police said, “Both accused have been arrested and the incident in Ra’anana is being investigated.” Israeli police said Shin Bet was interrogating both accused.
Media reports said Hamas men stabbed an elderly woman, who later died of her injuries. “Three others, including a sixty-year-old man, a sixteen-year-old boy and another woman, were seriously injured,” Israeli media reports said. He was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.” The accused allegedly stole a car and hit pedestrians and other vehicles. “Seven children in the age group of 10-16 were injured and have been admitted to hospitals,” media reports said. The injured were admitted to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba, Rabin Medical Center-Bellinson and a hospital in Petah Tikva.
