Upon facing strong protest from the local public, the police assured that it was committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Rajasthan has become a hotbed of crimes against women. On August 31, a tribal woman was allegedly beaten and paraded naked by her husband and in-laws in Pratapgarh district of the western state, inviting the wrath of the National Commission of Women and National Human Rights Commission for CM Ashok Gehlot run-Rajasthan government. The matter only came to light after a video of the incident went viral on social media. The chief minister had constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and 11 people have been arrested so far in the case. Despite the strict action by the state government, the cases of crimes against women refuse to come down.
