Woman involved in Naxal organization for 12 years surrenders
Sukma. A woman Naxalite has surrendered before the police in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Sukma district. It is being told that a reward of one lakh was declared on a dedicated female Naxalite. According to the police, the woman Naxalite who surrendered has been identified as Hemla Gangi. She was associated with the banned organization for the last 12 years.
To connect the Naxalites with the mainstream, the government has launched a Naxal eradication campaign. This campaign has been named “Poona Narcom Campaign”. Under this campaign, banner posters are being put up in Naxal-affected areas of Sukma and an appeal is being made to meet the villagers and surrender to the Naxalites. Many facilities are being given to the surrendered Naxalites under the rehabilitation policy. So that they do not return to the Naxalite organization again.
In the district, on June 10 last, a Naxalite couple with a reward of three lakh each had surrendered before the Sukma police. Impressed by the rehabilitation policy of the government, both the Naxalites decided to join the mainstream again. This was confirmed by Additional Superintendent of Police Gaurav Mandal. Naxalite Sodhi Joga and wife Veko Kosi were both members of the regional technical team of Naxalites. Both surrendered before the police and CRPF officials.
