Woman, lover and her ex-husband arrested for abandoning two children
Colva: Margao Police has arrested Nikki Pandey and her boyfriend Aniket Rajguru for abandoning a 2-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl at different places in Margao on January 27. Both have been charged under section 317 of the Indian Penal Code. (Abandoning a child below 12 years of age) and the Goa Children Act. The children’s father has also been arrested.
The events leading to the abandonment began with an interrupted voyage. The children’s father Manu Pandey was traveling from his native state Madhya Pradesh to Bihar with his ex-wife Nikki and her live-in partner Rajguru. However, after learning about the severe cold weather conditions in Bihar, he decided to return.
He broke off the journey on reaching Margao. During that time Nikki and Aniket left the children. The boy was dropped at the KRC parking lot, while the girl was dropped near Gandhi Market.
His mother Anjali somehow managed to reach Goa and was found without a ticket at the station. The Railway Protection Force later handed him over to the Konkan Railway Police, to whom he narrated his ordeal. She revealed that the trio took her children without her knowledge and also confiscated her belongings including mobile phone.
Margao Police said they traced the trio in Sawantwadi through mobile tracking and brought them back to Goa.
