Woman protested against rape
Bhopal : A woman fought off three men who tried to rape her at Karbala Park on VIP Road on Wednesday night.
Koh-e-Fiza police station house officer (SHO) Brijendra Marskole said the 24-year-old complainant previously worked in a hospital and came in contact with a liftman named Vivek Dhakad who worked there.
Late on Wednesday night, the woman came out of her house to buy groceries and was hit by a thunderbolt. The man told her that he had something important to talk to her and he took her to Karbala Park.
Both of them were talking when two friends from Dhaka, named Sudhir and another unknown person, came there. Then the tree men dragged the woman into the bushes, but she fought and started screaming. Frightened, the accused ran away from the spot.
After this the woman contacted the police and lodged a complaint against the three accused. Police have started a search operation to nab the three.
Dowry murder case registered against husband and in-laws
Chhola police have claimed to have solved the suicide case of a 27-year-old woman and have registered a case of dowry harassment against her husband as well as her in-laws.
Chhola police station house officer (SHO) Suresh Chandra Nagar said the woman, identified as Chhaya Patel, committed suicide at her home in Chhola on October 3.
Her husband and in-laws took her to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Police were informed, who started investigation following orders from ACP Richa Jain.
On Thursday, the police came to the conclusion that the woman’s husband Pushpendra Patel and his relatives used to harass her for dowry. It was found that they subjected her to physical and mental harassment. They were demanding Rs 3 lakh in dowry. Police said that the woman, unable to bear the pain, took this step.
All the accused have been booked under section 498 (A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation is underway, SHO Nagar said.
Man arrested for raping woman on the pretext of marriage
A man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage.
Shahpura police station house officer (SHO) Raghunath Singh said the 23-year-old victim approached the police late on Wednesday night and claimed that she was in contact with a man named Raj Verma, 23, a resident of Bagh Sewania, since 2019. ,
She alleged that Verma lured her into marriage in 2020 and repeatedly insulted her.
The police have registered a complaint and started searching for the accused.
The police managed to nab Verma on Thursday afternoon, within 12 hours of the complaint being filed. Police station in-charge Singh said that the accused will be presented in the court soon.
