Woman raped, absconding youth from victim’s village arrested

Raigarh news. A local woman had lodged a report in Dharamjaigarh police station against the youth Balram Mridha for raping her by threatening her. Regarding the incident, Station Incharge Dharamjaigarh Inspector Kamala Pusam interrogated the victim woman in detail and took her statement. The woman told that on May 29, her husband and other family members had gone to Korba. Meanwhile, Balram Mridha of the village found her alone in the house and raped her by threatening her. On the written application of the woman, Dharamjaigarh police station incharge registered a case against accused Balram Mridha under crime number 167/2024 section 376, 506 IPC and immediately raided the accused’s residence to arrest him. The accused had fled to avoid arrest.

Informers were deployed by the station incharge to give information about the accused. This morning, on the basis of information from an informer, TI Dharamjaigarh Kamala Pusam raided the place and arrested the accused Balram Mridha (age 25 years), resident of Dharamjaigarh district Raigarh. After completing the medical formalities of the accused, he was duly arrested and presented in the court on judicial remand and sent to jail. Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Shri Divyang Kumar Patel, prompt action is being taken by Dharamjaigarh police in crimes related to women.
