Women arrested for selling obscene material

Mumbai: Versova Police has arrested three people, including two women, for selling obscene videos and pictures through Pihu official app. The trio were identified as Tamanna Khan, 34, Tanisha Kanojia, 20, and Rudra Raut, 27, while the owner of the app is absconding. They used to charge Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000 per person for providing explicit videos and photos and watching live sex on the platform.

The raid was conducted after a tip-off about the crime

According to the police, they received a tip-off regarding the crime on November 4 and subsequently they raided a flat in Four Bungalows in Versova around 7.49 am on Sunday morning. A case has been registered against the trio under sections 292 (sale of obscene books etc.) and 293 (sale of obscene objects to young persons) of the Indian Penal Code as well as the Information Technology Act. Inspector Nagesh Misal said, “The accused have been sent to police custody till November 8.”
