Women of Pragati Self Help Group are making natural paint from cow dung

Korea. Various activities are being conducted under the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park Scheme in Gauthan of Majhgawan village of Baikunthpur block, one of which is natural paint manufacturing from cow dung. The women of Pragati Self Help Group are involved in paint manufacturing here. This natural paint is adding colors of happiness in the lives of women. From the month of February, the unit for making natural paint from cow dung is operating here and they have produced 2800 liters of paint. Out of which, by selling about 2500 liters of paint, an income of about Rs 5 lakh 30 thousand has also been made. As per the instructions of the Government of Chhattisgarh, it is being used for coloring in all government offices and schools. The president of the group, Suman Rajwade, says that through the dung paint unit, the women of the group have got self-employment, due to which they are providing economic support to themselves and their families. Earlier, vermicompost was being made from cow dung in Gothans by women, today along with this, domestic women like us have emerged as successful entrepreneurs by making paint from cow dung under RIPA. The manufactured paint is being sold in the market under the brand name Natural Paint through Gauthan and Sea Mart. Some women of the group have been trained to make paint from cow dung in Jaipur, Rajasthan, here they were duly informed about the construction. In the process of making paint from cow dung, first the mixture of cow dung and water is mixed well by putting it in the machine and then the insoluble substances are removed by filtering through a fine mesh. Then it is bleached using some chemicals and goes through the process of steam. After that a substance called CMS is obtained. It is being made products in the form of distemper and emulsion. Different paint products can be taken in adequate quantity as per requirement from the paint unit installed at Ripa Gauthan Majhgawan. Its average daily productive capacity is around 500 litres.
