Women’s World Cup champions Spain have overtaken the US in the FIFA rankings.

Zurich: Women’s World Cup champions Spain extended their points lead over second-ranked United States in the FIFA rankings on Thursday.
Since the last ranking update in August, Spain retained their UEFA Nations League title, while the US won four of the five friendly matches they played during that period.
Spain won the Nations League final against Germany last week, which moved up two places in the rankings to number 3. European champions England remained at number 4, and number 5 Sweden dropped two places.
Brazil and France swapped places at numbers 6 and 7 respectively. Japan remained at number 8, North Korea moved up one place to number 9, replacing Canada, which is now at number 10.
