Special trains will run between Chennai and Mangalore

Tamil Nadu: In response to the increased passenger traffic during the Vishu festival, the Southern Railway has announced the operation of special trains between Chennai and Mangalore. According to a press release issued by the Railways, special express trains will run between the two cities on April 6, 7, and 13 and 14, providing significant relief to travelers during the festival.
According to the Railways, Special Express Train No. 06126 will depart from Mangalore Central Station at 4:00 PM on April 6 and 13. It will arrive at Chennai Egmore Station at 10:30 AM the next day, April 7 and 14. This service will be especially useful for travelers who wish to reach their destinations during Vishu.
In the return direction, Special Express Train No. 06125 will depart from Chennai Egmore at 2:00 PM on April 7 and 14 and arrive at Mangalore Central Station at 6:50 AM on the following days, April 8 and 15. Thus, passengers in both directions will have the option of traveling at comfortable times.
The Railways has informed that these special trains will stop at several major routes, including important stations such as Perambur, Tiruvallur, Arkkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Palakkad, and Soranur. Passengers from various regions will also benefit from this service through these stops.
During Vishu, a major festival celebrated primarily in Kerala and parts of South India, a large number of people travel to their homes. Therefore, the operation of additional trains is considered necessary to manage the rush and ensure smooth travel.
The Railways has also informed that ticket booking for these special trains will begin on Saturday morning, April 4th. Passengers are urged to reserve their seats well in advance to avoid last-minute inconveniences.
This initiative of special trains will not only provide relief to passengers but will also reduce the pressure on the railway network during the festival season. This move by Southern Railway is being considered a significant effort towards ensuring passenger convenience and a better travel experience.
