Kothagudem: Renowned tribal leader Koram Kanakaiah has been elected MLA of Yellandu once again in the recently held elections. Earlier, he has been the director of DCCB and was elected MLA for the first time in 2014 from the Congress party. Later he joined the BRS party and lost in the 2018 elections. After this, he was elected Zilla Parishad President of Kothagudem district. Before the 2023 elections, he joined the Congress party along with Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and won with a huge majority. Kanakaiah is a tribal leader who was born in Koyagudem village of Tekulapally mandal. He has made his mark by serving in the Agency area and has made his mark among the people. He is also playing a key role in the development of Yellandu, a coal town in the district.
