Bareilly: Flowers will be showered on Kanwadiyas from helicopter.
Bareilly: The administration has started extensive preparations for the month of Sawan and Kanwar Yatra in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. This year too, flowers will be showered from helicopters on major Shiva temples and Kanwar routes to welcome the Kanwariyas. Along with this, saplings will be distributed as Prasad to the devotees with the aim of giving the message of environmental protection. The district administration says that efforts are being made to combine religious faith and environmental protection, so that the devotees also take a pledge to increase greenery along with worship.
Last year also, during the Kanwar Yatra, the Bareilly administration had welcomed the devotees by showering flowers from helicopters on major Shiva temples and Kanwar routes. The initiative had received positive response from devotees and local people. Keeping this experience in mind, this time also the administration has decided to continue the tradition of showering flowers.
According to the administration, flowers will be showered by helicopter over the major pagodas of Nath city including Alakhnath Temple, Trivatinath Temple, Dhopeshwarnath Temple, Tapeshwarnath Temple, Vanakhandinath Temple. Devotees will also be welcomed with flowers at designated places on Kanwar routes, which will make the religious atmosphere more grand.
The district administration said that during Sawan, a large number of Kanwariyas reach Bareilly from different states and districts. In such a situation, all necessary arrangements are being made for their convenience, safety and welcome. Police, administration, health department, municipal corporation and other concerned departments have been instructed to work in coordination.
This time the administration has made a special plan to link environmental protection with the Kanwar Yatra. Saplings will also be distributed along with Prasad to the devotees and Kanwariyas who come for darshan in major temples. The administration believes that if devotees plant these plants in their homes, villages or public places, it will increase greenery and the message of environmental protection will also reach on a large scale.
According to officials, special arrangements are being made for the distribution of plants in collaboration with the Forest Department and Horticulture Department. Such plants will be selected which can be easily conserved and maintained. Devotees will be motivated to take regular care of the plants and plant more and more trees.
In view of the Kanwar Yatra, the administration has also made preparations to strengthen the security arrangements. Additional police forces will be deployed at major temples, Kanwar routes and sensitive places. Monitoring will be done through CCTV cameras, while crowd and traffic conditions can also be monitored through drones. A special traffic plan is also being prepared to maintain smooth traffic.
The Health Department has also been instructed to remain completely alert during the journey. First aid centres, ambulances and medical teams will be deployed on Kanwar routes to provide immediate assistance in case of any emergency. Apart from this, special arrangements will also be made for drinking water, toilets, resting places and cleanliness.
The Municipal Corporation has been instructed to conduct regular cleaning campaigns around Kanwar routes and temples. Timely resolution of waterlogging, garbage and other problems will be ensured. Instructions have been given to the Electricity Department to maintain uninterrupted power supply and to the Public Works Department to make arrangements for repairing and barricading of roads.
The administration says that regular review meetings are being held with officials of all departments to ensure that the devotees do not face any inconvenience during the Kanwar Yatra. The control room will also remain active to deal with any emergency during the yatra and coordination will be maintained between various departments.
Local religious organizations have also welcomed this initiative of the administration. He says that showering flowers from the helicopter is a respect for the faith of the devotees, while the distribution of plants is a positive step towards environmental protection. With this, the message of nature conservation will also reach the society through religious events.
