World’s largest steel plant will be constructed in Gujarat
Gandhinagar: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) is building the world’s largest single-site integrated steel plant at Hazira in Gujarat, ArcelorMittal Executive Chairman Lakshmi Mittal said on Wednesday.
Global steel major ArcelorMittal operates a joint venture in India with Japan’s Nippon.
Speaking at the 10th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) held here, Mittal said the plant will have a production capacity of 24 million tonnes per annum. It is expected to be ready by 2029.
He said that at the summit the company has signed an MoU with the Gujarat government for the second phase of the Hazira plant.
