WPL 2024 auction, Australian batsman Phoebe Litchfield bought by Gujarat Giants

Mumbai: Gujarat Giants bid Rs 1 crore for Australian batsman Phoebe Litchfield in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 auction in Mumbai on Saturday.

Australia’s Phoebe Litchfield was the first player to bid at the base price of Rs 30 lakh, receiving the first bid from Gujarat Giants. After a brief tussle between UP Warriors and Gujarat, the auction price crossed Rs 60 lakh in no time. Gujarat Giants finally bought him for Rs 1 crore.

Lichfield recorded the fastest fifty in 18 balls in a women’s T20I in October this year, equaling Sophie Devine’s previous best.
The left-handed batsman scored 279 runs at a strike rate of 132.85 for Northern Superchargers, finishing The Hundred as the team’s third-highest scorer. In his first ODI, Litchfield scored 78 not out off 92 balls. Her best score of 106 runs for the women in yellow in ODIs is.
