WWR: Explosion at Iran’s gas field

Iran: Following an Israeli airstrike on the South Pars gasfield, the world’s largest natural gas field located off the coast of Bushehr province, oil and gas installations in the Gulf region have been threatened. Five major oil and gas installations in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar will be targeted “in the coming hours.
The targets include the SAMREF refinery and Jubail petrochemical complex in Saudi Arabia, the Al Hosn gasfield in the UAE, and the Ras Laffan refinery and Mesaieed petrochemical complex and holding company in Qatar. The Iranian Petroleum Ministry reported that some facilities connected to the South Pars gasfield were damaged, but no casualties were reported. The fire has been brought under control.
According to Israeli media sources, the attack was carried out by the Israeli Air Force. The incident comes against the backdrop of a war being waged by the US and Israel against Iran, raising tensions in the region and concerns about energy security. Experts say that if Iran attacks installations in the Gulf region, global oil and gas supplies could be affected. The international community urged both sides to exercise restraint and prevent the war from escalating further.
