Yellow alert of rain in 10 districts of Chhattisgarh
Raipur: In Chhattisgarh, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in 10 districts of the state. According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, heavy rain warning has been issued in one or two places of Surguja, Jashpur, Korea, Surajpur, Balrampur, Pendra, Bilaspur, Kabirdham, Bastar and Sukma districts. From June 1, 2023 to August 3, an average rainfall of 746 mm has been recorded in the state.
Average less rainfall has been received in 15 districts of the state. Surguja is in the grip of drought due to 62 percent less rainfall. The rains in the areas of the state including the capital have given relief to the common people from the high humidity and heat. The faces of the farmers have brightened up as their crops are getting water.
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be chances of rain in Bilaspur and Durg divisions and other districts of the state for the next three to four days. The monsoon trough remains continuously in the foothills of the Himalayas at mid-sea level. An upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km height over north-east Bay of Bengal. The area of heavy rainfall is likely to be mainly South Chhattisgarh.
