Young man dies after balcony of under-construction bridge collapses, two seriously injured, family in grief

Bhanupratappur: A tragic accident took place last night in Bhanupratappur under Kanker district of the state. One youth died on the spot after balcony of under-construction bridge of Gram Panchayat Chargaon collapsed, while two are seriously injured. Police reached the spot after receiving the information and registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem. The injured were immediately taken to Antagarh Community Health Center for treatment.

According to the information, the deceased youth was identified as Hemant Dugga, a resident of Lakanar. To avoid heavy rain that started suddenly on Thursday night, 3 youths were standing under the bridge being constructed on the river in Chargaon. During this time, due to rain, the plaster of the under-construction bridge fell on them and all three youths got buried under it. In this incident, Hemant Dugga died on the spot. Two other people have been seriously injured. In this case, SDOP Amar Sidar of Siksod police station area has confirmed the incident and said that investigation in the case is going on.
