Youth arrested, smuggling liquor on motorcycle
Raigarh: On the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Sadanand Kumar, vigorous action is being taken against illegal liquor in the district. In the same sequence, today the team of Chakradharnagar Police and Cyber Cell, in a joint action, arrested the accused of smuggling liquor on a motorcycle on Kauhakunda Main Road.
According to the information, this morning the police received information from the informer that Loknath Yadav of village Basanpali Pusaur was coming towards the main road Kauhakunda in his motorcycle HF Deluxe while transporting liquor for illegal sale. On receiving the information, immediately the staff of Chakradhar Nagar Police Station and Cyber Cell, who were patrolling that area, were directed by the officers to take action. Suspect Loknath Yadav was caught by the police team on Kauhakunda Main Road on motorcycle HF Deluxe serial number CG13 AF 0613.
On checking the bag kept with the suspect, it was found to contain 32 pav of country plain liquor and 13 pav of Iconic Premium Whiskey, regarding the transportation of which Loknath Yadav could not give any satisfactory answer. The police team seized a total of 45 passes of liquor worth Rs 4120/- along with the motorcycle HF Deluxe number CG13 AF 0613 used for transporting illegal liquor from the possession of the accused Loknath Yadav, father Jagmohan Yadav, aged 23 years, resident of village Basanpali police station Pusaur. Due action was taken against the accused under Section 34(2), 59(a) of the Excise Act under all the provisions contained in the Chhattisgarh Excise Act. Lady head constable Rajshree Vaishnav, cyber cell head constable Rajesh Patel, constable Mahesh Panda, Pratap Behera, Suresh Sidar and constable Rajesh Sidar (Chakradharnagar police station) were involved in the liquor raid under the leadership of police station in-charge Chakradharnagar inspector Prashant Rao.
