Youth breaches Odisha Chief Minister’s security cordon

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a youth reportedly broke Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s security cordon during his visit to Utkal University in Bhubaneswar today.
According to reports, the Chief Minister was slated to attend the National Youth Day Celebration in the Utkal University. After reaching the varsity, he was going towards the Convocation Hall, the venue of the event, on a padayatra waving hands at everyone present on the spot.
In the meantime, a youth breached the security cordon and rushed towards the CM with a paper in his hand. However, the security forces prevented him from reaching Majhi and avoided any untoward incident.
Soon, the police personnel caught hold of the youth and detained him in the Saheed Nagar Police Station for interrogation to ascertain his modus operandi.
Meanwhile, police identified the offender as Bijaya Kumar Malik. He is a former student of Utkal University who had contested the Bhandaripokhari Assembly election in 2024 on Odisha Janata Party. However, currently his mental health condition is not that so fine, informed source.
