Youth drowns during idol immersion in river, SDRF on spot

Assam. There is a possibility of a youth drowning in the river while immersing an idol in Dibrugarh district. The missing youth has been identified as Rubul Shrawal, a native of Joypur. During the immersion of the idol of Goddess Maa Mansa in Naharkatiya, a young man allegedly slipped and fell into the river and went missing. People immediately informed the authorities. A district official said that a team of local police and State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) reached the spot and started rescue efforts. Efforts to trace Shravala are still ongoing.
