Youth in Noida will get training as per the needs of industries.
Noida: A one-day skills and employment-oriented workshop was organized jointly by the District Employment Office and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to equip the youth of Gautam Buddha Nagar district with employable skills and prepare them to meet the needs of industries. The workshop was held on Friday at GNIOT, Greater Noida, where representatives of educational institutions, industries, and MSMEs participated and discussed issues related to employment opportunities and skill development.
The main objective of the workshop was to educate youth about the changing industrial environment, new employment opportunities, the need for modern skills, and current industrial demands. The program emphasized the need to enhance the employability of youth by establishing better coordination between educational institutions and industries, so that they can access better opportunities after their studies.
Representatives from Delhi Technical Campus, Mangalmay Group of Institutions, Ram-Ish Institute, Accurate Institute of Management and Technology, ITS Engineering College, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Visvesvaraya Group of Institutions, GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, Innovative Group of Colleges, Prince Institute of Information Technology, Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET), and Lloyd Group of Institutions participated in the program.
In addition, representatives from several MSMEs, including Arya Fashions, Siddhi Info Net, Ralovo Engineering, Matangi Polymers, Air Flow, and Care Decor India, were also present. Representatives from the Indian Industries Association (IIA) and the Indian Business Association (IBA) also shared their views on youth skill development and industry needs.
District Employment Officer Manisha Atri stated that the department is continuously striving to provide quality skill training and employment opportunities to youth, in line with the Uttar Pradesh government’s vision. He informed that in the coming months, a special campus placement drive will be organized for graduates and non-technical candidates in collaboration with TCS.
He stated that candidates interested in participating in this placement drive must register on the Employment Department’s “Rozgar Sangam” portal and the TCS iON portal. This will ensure better employment opportunities for qualified candidates.
During the workshop, MSME representatives raised the issue of a shortage of skilled workers in industries. They stated that industries are unable to access the trained human resources they need. The District Employment Officer assured that the department, in collaboration with TCS, will identify qualified and trained candidates to meet industry needs and connect them with employment.
During the program, an important Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was also signed between the District Employment Office, Gautam Buddha Nagar, and Arya Fashions to promote employment generation and skill development. This agreement aims to provide employment and self-employment opportunities to youth by providing them with training tailored to industry demand.
Officials said that this initiative will not only provide industries with trained human resources, but will also help young people find employment according to their qualifications and abilities. The administration aims to connect as many young people in the district as possible with skills training and make them self-reliant.
