Painter dies after getting burnt on OHE line

Korba. A tragic accident occurred on November 24th at the Gevra end of Platform No. 1 at Korba Railway Station. Shyam Chauhan, a private employee working on a relief van, was suddenly struck by the OHE line and severely burned. He was initially taken to the Korba District Hospital, from where he was referred to the Bilaspur Burn and Trauma Research Center. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Saturday. The police have registered a case of inquest and completed the Panchanama.

In fact, on November 24th, work was underway at 10:10 a.m. with the OHE blocked for roof painting at the ART. Following the cancellation notice at 4:10 p.m., the OHE was charged at 4:20 p.m. The incident occurred two minutes later, at 4:22 p.m.

Shyam Chauhan lived behind the running room in the Korba Railway Colony. He was brought to the Burn and Trauma Research Center in Bilaspur for treatment, where doctors determined he had suffered burns covering 30 percent of his body. Shyam died after battling for life in the hospital for nearly five days.
