Kasganj: In Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, a case of alleged religious conversion by enticing individuals with job prospects and money came to light. Acting on received information, the police intervened and apprehended ten individuals from the scene. The accused individuals hailed from Tripura, Assam, Rajasthan, and Haryana, and they were reportedly using offensive language.
The incident reportedly occurred in village Bijora Nagla Banjaran in the Patiali area of Kasganj. Allegations suggest that individuals were being induced into conversion by promises of employment and financial incentives. Upon learning about this, a concerned villager discreetly investigated the matter.
The villager observed a gathering inside the house of Ashok, son of Sonpal, from the village. It appeared that individuals were being enticed with promises of securing jobs in schools if they converted to Christianity. Subsequently, the villager objected to this activity and promptly notified the police. Responding swiftly, the police arrived at the location and apprehended those involved in the conversion activities.
Among the ten arrested individuals were Gavdhu Singh, Sunil, Ashok, Suraj, and Ajay Nayak from Kasganj, along with Hemant from Darrang in Assam, Pijus Molsam from Dhalai in Tripura, Ambassa, Mahavir Jatav from Dholpur in Rajasthan, Ambala in Haryana, Prakash from Muhammadabad in Mau district, and Santosh from Muhammadabad in Mau district.
The Superintendent of Police, Deep Kumar Pant, stated that the police received information about a religious conversion scheme in village Pithora, where Ashok, son of Sonpal, along with relatives, was allegedly orchestrating conversions in exchange for job prospects. The police intervened and arrested the ten individuals involved in the incident. Six religious books, eight mobile phones, and ten thousand rupees were seized from the accused. Stringent actions are being taken against all involved parties.
