10 critically injured in road accident near Jaleswar in Odisha’s Balasore district
Jaleswar: As many as 10 people have been reported as critically injured as a result of a road accident near Jaleswar of Balasore district. The accident took place on NH-60 near Velora chowk under the limits of Basta Police Station in Balasore.
Two pilgrim busses carrying passengers collided with each other, causing the accident. Reportedly, both the buses were on their way to Puri. One of the buses was being operated by Jyoti Travels. Carrying 25 passengers, the bus was en route from Bihar to Puri.
The collision took place as a result of the poor condition of the roads near Velora Chowk. Aware of the road conditions, the bus traveler reduced the speed of the bus. At the same time, another pilgrim bus coming from behind collided with this bus.
The second bus was reportedly carrying over 40 passengers. The bus, with the name ‘Sayan Sayantika’, was en route from West Bengal to Puri.
The injured people were immediately admitted to the Basta Medical. Officials from the Basta Police station were quick to reach the spot. They have initiated a probe into the matter and are looking out for the safety of the other passengers. No causalities reported.
