100 liters of illegal Mahua liquor seized, case registered under Excise Act
Raigarh. Police station in-charge Tamnar Inspector Ashirwad Rahatgaonkar is taking action against illegal liquor sale and transportation in the area by activating the informer. In the same sequence, in the morning, police station in-charge Tamnar Inspector Ashirwad Rahatgaonkar got information from the informer that a person named Chaitan Rathiya was selling Mahua liquor illegally in the courtyard of his house in Milupara Sitapur. Immediately the police station in-charge went on rural patrolling and instructed the staff to take action. Tamnar police team along with witnesses reached the residence of Chaitan Rathiya for liquor raid. Chaitan Rathiya clearly denied selling liquor, but upon strict interrogation by the police team, the accused Chaitan Rathiya admitted to making and selling liquor illegally.
A total of 100 liters of Mahua liquor worth ₹ 20,000, filled in liquor making vessels, plastic cans of 20 and 10 liter capacity and kept in the tire tube of the vehicle, has been seized from his possession. Accused Chaitan Rathiya, father late Kamal Singh Rathiya, age 50 years, S/O Milupara, Sitapur police station, Tamnar, action has been taken under section 34(2) 59(a) of the Excise Act and the accused has been sent on judicial remand. Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Sadanand Kumar and guidance of Additional SP Sanjay Mahadeva and SDOP Dharamjaigarh Deepak Mishra, police station in-charge Tamnar Inspector Ashirwad Rahatgaonkar, head constable Santosh Kurre, female head constable Usha Rani Tirkey, constable Bhishmadev Sagar and constable Bhanu took part in the liquor raid.
