11 houses burnt to ashes due to fire in Myanmar
Yangon: Eleven houses were destroyed in a fire in Madaya township in Myanmar’s Mandalay region, state media said on Friday.
The accident occurred when a five-year-old child was playing with a matchbox and the bed caught fire. A rescue organization official told Xinhua on Friday that the fire later spread from that house to other houses and 11 houses were burnt.
The fire broke out at Taungpyon Gyi village in Mandalay region’s Madaya township at 11.30 a.m. local time on Thursday and was extinguished about an hour later, the Myanmar Allin newspaper said.
“We pulled people out of the debris and extinguished the fire,” the rescue organization said.
The official said there were no casualties in the fire.
