11 Naxalites surrendered in Sukma
Sukma: In the interior areas of Chhattisgarh’s highly Naxal-affected Sukma district, Naxalites recruit tribals into their organization by pressurizing them at gunpoint. They confuse innocent tribal people of the village and hand them guns. Now due to the increasing influence of the security forces, Naxalites are on the backfoot and this is giving courage to the tribal community of the interior areas to join the mainstream of the society.
On the day of World Tribal Day, 11 Naxalites of the interior villages of Konta area have left the organization and returned to the mainstream. Five of them are women. All of them are from the tribal community. They were impressed by the government’s rehabilitation policy and the development work being done in the village under the Niyyad Nella Nar scheme.
Let us tell you that more than 200 surrenders so far According to the police, more than 200 Naxalites have surrendered in the district so far this year. After the establishment of new camps and operations in the interior areas, Naxalites are on the backfoot. Security forces have set up camps in remote areas like Poorvarti, Duled. Operations are being conducted continuously from these camps. Along with this, the trust of the villagers on the security forces has increased due to the Niyid Nella Nar scheme and community policing program.
