11 vehicles seized for illegal transportation
Janjgir-Champa: Under the direction of Collector Richa, flying squad in-charge of Mineral Department, Uttam Prasad Khunte, Mineral Inspector and Tehsildar Janjgir conducted a surprise check of illegal transport vehicles and illegal storage places of minerals in Pithampur and Pamgarh area of district Janjgir Champa. .
Mineral Officer Hemant Cherpa said that 10 cases of illegal transportation of mineral sand (8 tractors, 02 highways) and 1 case of mineral stones (1 highway) were registered in the district. In this way, a total of 11 vehicles involved in illegal transportation of minerals in the district will be seized, a case of illegal transportation will be registered and action will be taken under mineral rules. All the vehicles have been kept in police custody.
As per the instructions of the Collector, special campaigns are being carried out by the District Level Task Force to effectively control illegal mining, transportation and storage of minerals in the district and continuous investigation is being carried out. Punitive action will be taken against illegal excavators, transporters and warehousers under Rule 71 of Chhattisgarh Minor Mineral Rules 2015 and Section 21 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act 1957.
