11 year old girl raped and murdered, body found packed in a sack
Kolkata (IANS). The body of a minor girl packed in a sack was found on the banks of a river in Dhupguri in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the 11-year-old girl was first raped and then murdered. His body was wrapped in a sack and thrown on the banks of Dudua river in Dhupguri.
The police have arrested a local youth in this connection. A few days ago, the victim’s family had lodged a missing report in the police station.
Meanwhile, the police team patrolling with sniffer dogs located the sack in which the body of the minor was wrapped. On Monday morning, the victim’s family came to the local police station and identified the body.
Police sources said that during interrogation the arrested local youth confessed to his crime. The young man is married. After committing this heinous crime, he had fled to his in-laws’ house nearby.
Jalpaiguri District Police confirmed the arrest of the youth. Police said that the body has been sent for post-mortem. Further investigation is ongoing.
